Daddy Long Legs Hotel

The 13-room Daddy Long Legs Art Hotel is more like an interactive art exhibit than just a boutique hotel. Located above The African Music Store on Long Street – one of Cape Town’s oldest streets – the concept originated from The Daddy Long Legs Suites, owners Jody Aufrichtig and Nicholas Ferguson’s first endeavor. With architecture by Scott Johnston, each room at the Daddy Long Legs was uniquely decorated by a local artist, poet, photographer, designer or musician. (Including poet Finuala Dowling and photographer Antony Smyth.)  All of the artists were given the chance to interpret the space as they pleased, the result being an eclectic representation of contemporary Cape Town.
